Financial Aid Information
Finding financial aid is an ongoing process that takes time and effort. Below are specifics for each grade level student to work on and  websites to visit for more information.
Freshman Work on your grade point average - one of the most important criteria for financial awards. Get involved in activities and work on doing some community service projects. Sign up for Oklahoma's Promise on the web (www.okpromise.org) if your family income is below $50,000.
Sophomores
If you haven't taken a college entrance exam, you should consider it for good practice to know what to work on to improve your score. A high score is another important criteria for scholarships and practice can improve your score. Continue to work on your GPA and participate in extracurricular activities and community service. Deadline to sign up for Oklahoma's Promise is summer after your sophomore year.
Juniors
Keep taking your college entrance exam until you are satisfied with your score. There are many ways to practice and "prep" for these tests, but they require student effort. Continue to work for GPAs, extracurricular activity participation and community service.
Seniors
This is the year to apply for things! All financial aid information we receive at CHS will be passed on to you through your English class and bulletin board.
We can provide you with many resources, but you must do the work. You should do a scholarship search on yourself via the internet to find out what specific scholarships fit you. Apply for every scholarship in which you qualify. Fill out your FAFSA form as soon as you and your family's tax information is complete. Fill out the scholarship application for college(s) you plan to attend and the financial aid application(s) before their due dates. Pay close attention to deadline dates! Visit the financial aid office of the college you choose.
